Ascend to Vegas
Ascend Penn State hosts an annual networking event in which students, company representatives, and industry professionals have the opportunity to connect through a series of interactive games and activities. The event is catered, and prizes are awarded to winning participants at the end of the evening.
What is Ascend to Vegas?
Ascend to Vegas is a largescale networking fair held annually by Ascend Penn State. Representatives and managers from participating organizations are encouraged to engage and network with Penn State students outside a rigid career fair setting. Although the night will consist of traditional career fair style networking, students will also have the unique opportunity to network with recruiters by playing casino games. To encourage a friendly yet competitive atmosphere, grand prizes are awarded to the three participants with the highest poker chip count at the end of the night!
How Ascend to Vegas works:
Ascend to Vegas is one of our signature events, a twist on the traditional approach to networking for students.
Start with chips
Company Professionals and Students are encouraged to participate, and enter with a fixed number of chips. There is no entry fee or actual money involved.
Attend networking booths and games
Participants can move through the event and attend games or traditional information booths of their choice.
Win chips and prizes
Participants can win chips which will be cashed in at the end of the night for a prize.
